Snow Parking Rules, Every Stateline Town
Seven towns, seven different rules, and they are genuinely different from each other. One runs odd/even. One runs a 12-hour clock. One covers alleys and parking lots. One has no depth trigger at all. Here they are side by side.
Most towns in the Rockford area trigger their snow parking ban at two inches of accumulation, but what the ban actually covers and when it lifts varies by town. Roscoe runs a 12-hour clock from the end of snowfall, Belvidere includes alleys and public parking lots, and Cherry Valley works off a declared emergency rather than a depth.

What trips people up
Four Differences Worth Knowing
Roscoe runs a clock, not a condition. The 12 hours start when the snow stops, not when the plow goes past. A car that is legal at hour 13 was still ticketable at hour 11 on a street that had already been cleared.
Belvidere reaches further than its neighbours. The ordinance names alleys and public parking lots, not just streets. That matters most downtown and for anyone who parks off an alley.
Cherry Valley has no depth trigger.It runs off the Village declaring an emergency, which can happen with a few hours' notice, so measuring your own driveway tells you nothing.
Rockford is the only odd/even town here. The side of the street you can legally park on changes with the date, which catches out people who moved in from any of the surrounding towns.
One rule is close to universal and worth stating plainly: do not shovel or plow snow into the street. Rockton names it explicitly, and it is the rule people most often break while clearing a driveway.
